"Oh my goodness! Look at them, they are so cute!" You squealed happily.
"That they are, lass." Bofur agreed.
"And they're so fluffy, too." Ori said.
"They're so fluffy, I can't even stand it." Fili said.
"They're so fluffy, I'm gonna die!" Kili said. You all agreed with him on that.
"What are you all doing over here?" Thorin asked as he and the others approached you, Fili, Kili, Ori and Bofur who were sitting around in a small group.
"This is what we are doing, uncle." Fili replied. You all move aside to reveal a litter of about a dozen bunny rabbits with their mother, who, surprisingly, was willing to let you play with her babies.
"Aw! How adorable!" Bilbo said, sitting down next to you as you handed him a tiny, fluffy bunny with brown fur.
Some of the other members of the company sat down with you and joined in. Bombur laid himself down on his back to let Bofur put one of the bunnies on his big belly. Bifur was transfixed by a little black and white patchwork bunny and started rubbing its' tummy.
Dwalin rolled his eyes. "Really? THAT'S the reason why we've stopped?"
"What else could it be?" You asked, petting a little ginger bunny.
"Come on. We should go now." Dwalin said. "We have more important things to do than playing with bunny rabbits."
"Aw! But Mister Dwalin!" Kili whined. "They're so cute! Can't we just stay a little longer?" He held the little, brown bunny he was holding against his chest and gave Dwalin his signature puppy dog eyes. "Please?"
You shook your head; Kili really knew how to sell those puppy dog eyes, didn't he?
Dwalin shifted. "Um.." Obviously, he didn't know how to respond to that. "We'll let Thorin decide that." Kili turned to his uncle and gave him the exact same look.
Thorin sighed. "I guess we can stay a little longer."
"Yay!" Kili said happily. There was a chorus of cheers from the rest of the company. Dwalin rolled his eyes again.
"Oh, come on, Mister Dwalin." Gandalf said as he held a furry, white bunny in his hand (foreshadowing!), who was purring as he stroked it. "There are worse things, you know." Everyone laughed and Dwalin just huffed.
The company stayed there for about 20 more minutes playing with the bunnies.
"It's so fluffy!!!" Kili exclaimed as he held the little brown bunny in his hand.
"Come on, Mister Dwalin." You said. "Join us." And before he could protest, you walked over to him and placed a little white bunny with black ears on his shoulder. Dwalin froze, staring at the tiny creature on his shoulder out of the corner of his eye. He didn't move a muscle, either for fear of disturbing it or fear of it period.
"My my my, Dwalin." Thorin said with a smirk. "It looks like you're more scared of that little animal than it is of you."
"That's ridiculous!" Dwalin said. "Uh, could someone get it off my shoulder please?" The little bunny on his shoulder looked at him, then it started sniffing his cheek and nibbling on his beard a bit.
"Aw! Look, Dwalin! He likes you!" You said.
"Seriously. Someone get this creature off my shoulder." Dwalin said.
Thorin shook his head then he walked over to Dwalin and removed the tiny bunny from his shoulder. Dwalin loosened up since apparently he had tensed up with having the little creature on his shoulder. Thorin smirked at his friend then proceeded to pet the little bunny he was now holding. Dwalin cleared his throat and straightened himself up, trying to act like his usual tough looking self.
Everyone else just laughed as you all continued to play with the bunnies until it was time to go.
And even Dwalin couldn't deny their adorable fluffiness.
