1. Adrift.
I feel something brush against my leg.
Now I wish I hadn't chosen to swim alone in open water.
2. Beat.
It is warm and juicy and chewy and sticky and has a fatty taste.
Who knew that man had such a good heart?
3. Restless.
From across the room I see my reflection in the mirror sit up in bed, then turn and look at me.
I'm still lying down.
4. Good Night.
I hear him say 'good night' to me in the darkness.
I scream and start clawing and banging at the inside of the casket when I hear the sound of dirt being dumped on top of it.
5. Bongo.
Her 5 year old daughter liked to play with her imaginary friend; a clown called Bongo.
She didn't think anything of it until she awoke one night to the sound of maniacal cackling and saw a clown grinning evilly at her in the door way.
6. Dear Fred.
Dear Fred: my mother is now standing in the living room looking just as beautiful as ever.
You're the best taxidermist I know and I thank you for doing me this favor.
7. Watchful.
It's hard to sleep with a pair of eyes staring at you.
Especially when you're the only one in the house.
8. Nip.
I was relaxing one evening with my hand hanging over the arm of the couch when I felt my cat nipping at my fingers.
Then I noticed that my cat was sitting right next to me the whole time when I heard him start hissing.
9. Scritch Scratch.
I woke up at midnight to the sound of nails scratching against glass.
At first I thought it was some animal or tree branch scratching against the window until I realized that the sound was coming from the mirror in the bathroom.
10. Blink.
I stared at the porcelain doll sitting on the shelf.
I didn't blink but it did.
11. Bless you.
She sneezed and heard someone say 'bless you' behind her.
She turned and saw nothing except the old portrait on the wall staring back at her.
12. The Visit.
I looked up and saw his shadowy silhouette watching me from the darkness of the woods, breathing heavy and eyes glowing.
This always happens whenever I go visit his grave.
13. Monster.
I've been having nightmares for weeks about people being eaten by a monster.
The pile of human bones in my closet has been getting bigger as the nightmares go on.
14. She.
I asked the bartender at the club where I worked who the woman in the white dress standing in the corner was.
He gave me a confused look and said "what woman?"
15. Bed Time.
I was tucking my daughter in bed when she said "I love you, daddy, and I'll miss you".
I told her I would see her in the morning and she looked me dead in the eyes and said "that's not what the faceless man standing behind you says".
16. Beauty.
I always thought she had a beautiful face.
Why do you think I'm wearing it now?
17. It Creeps.
I feel something crawling up my chest and onto my neck as I try to sleep.
I think it is a spider, until I feel the rotting fingernails.
18. Down We Go.
Alone in the boat, he looks at his reflection on the surface of the lake.
His reflection smiles before a hand burst out of water and grabs him, dragging him under.
19. Sister.
"Brother, I can't sleep" she said as she crawls into bed next to him and presses her ice cold body against his.
He doesn't have a sister.
20. Vision.
The eyes are the windows to the soul, they say.
Hers were already empty when I gouged them out and put them in a jar with the others.
I feel something brush against my leg.
Now I wish I hadn't chosen to swim alone in open water.

Deaths Diary (Entry 12)
Entry Twelve
What is it that frightens you? After all this time, I hardly need to tell you that there is no need to be afraid of me. However, I would like to explore the concept of fear. The ideas and the effects it has, if you'll permit me. Don't misunderstand me, fear has its benefits and it can be necessary. A man without fear is a fool. But there are some things that you humans fear that
you just don't need to, like me.
So why do you humans fear me? I think the correct way to answer that is to explain why children fear the dark, or certain humans are afraid of any form of god or deity. Some humans are afraid of the future
why?

So, first off, sorry about being so inactive as of late. I thought that once school ended I'd be able to get back to writing certain things. However, I have fallen into a random Teen Wolf fix, which is probably what inspired this little piece.
Anyway, this is something that I just discovered online and wanted to try my hand at. Two sentence horror stories are actually a very popular trend on websites like Reddit and others. Believe me, if you think that it's not possible for someone to scare your pants off in only two sentences you're wrong! Some of the 2SHSs I read online were outright terrifying!
Seriously, go look them up. Most of them are lot better than mine, but hey, it was my first try. I was only going to do 3 or 4 but it ended up being, like, 20. And I openly admit that #9 and # 16 are sort of rip-offs of already existing stories.
(Edit): I changed the 'Blink' story a bit.

I like the two sentence horror story thing. I followed a few writers' pages on Facebook, and they had exercises like 'Write the saddest story you can in only five words' and so-on. It reminds me of those. I think it's great fun, if not the kind of thing I'd write myself. Will you be doing more of these?
